Working closely with Software Developer/MIS Assistant/AP Finance
Key Purpose
1. To help develop and maintain College web based applications and MIS systems.
2. To liaise with teaching and support staff to interpret their needs and to provide solutions by creating new software and reports
Duties and Areas of Responsibility
MIS/Software Department
1. To develop and maintain existing web enabled front end systems and the MIS Database. Primarily in VB with some C# and Javascript (ReactJS)
2. Liaise with internal customers to establish requirements for new developments and reports in line with college requirements.
3. To assist with the Project management of development work, ensuring that development is delivered on time, meets the needs of users and is aligned with the department and college’s priorities
4. To extract data from MIS using reporting tools including MS Reporting Services ensuring that data is readily available to staff in a usable form in a variety of formats.
5. To develop and produce regular reports for the College, the College Management Teams and respond to ad hoc data requirements.
6. To support the college MIS Systems ensuring continuance of a reliable service (including
Texting Service, Admissions/ Enrolment/Timetabling).
7. To participate in networks associated with management information and keep up to date with developments in IT technologies, investigating and proposing changes to systems, and working practices to utilise new technology to ensure continuous improvements in MIS
8. To facilitate the maintenance of accurate student and curriculum data including reconciliation and investigation of data anomalies.
Cross College
1. Ensure high levels of customer service promoting a positive image of the MIS team
2. To liaise with teaching department to ensure data is accurate and timely
3. To be part of the Student and Information Services division supporting the student journey.
4. To take part in the enrolment process for new students and during the college year to support the admissions process.
5. To provide support, advice and guidance as required to further the college’s use and development of technology.

3 Engaging in continuing professional development by arranging and delivering training to colleagues or by attending relevant meetings and training sessions, within college or externally.
4 Ensuring all appropriate paperwork is completed in line with college requirements
5 Ensuring awareness and implementation of relevant legislation and college policies, particularly those relating to health and safety ,equal opportunities and copyright
6 Ensuring all service policies and procedures are documented, clear and up-to-date
